Supplier Sustainability Policy

Objective

                     This policy defines the sustainability requirements that all suppliers must meet to do business with Fernanda & Capelo, lda., a manufacturer in the cosmetics industry.

Our goal is to ensure the sourcing of high-quality, ethically produced ingredients, minimize environmental impact, and promote social and ethical practices across our supply chain.

1. Environmental Responsibility

Suppliers are expected to:
- Comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in the countries where they operate.
- Implement sustainable manufacturing processes that minimize carbon emissions, energy and water use.
- Avoid the use of environmentally hazardous chemicals and support safe waste disposal practices.
- Source raw materials, especially botanical and natural extracts, from sustainable and traceable sources.
- Promote packaging solutions that are recyclable, biodegradable, or made from post-consumer recycled content.
- Monitor and report environmental impact upon request.

2. Social Responsibility

Suppliers must:
- Uphold fair labour practices, including the prohibition of child labour, forced labour, and human trafficking.
- Provide safe and healthy working conditions in manufacturing and sourcing operations.
- Respect the rights of workers, including freedom of association and collective bargaining.
- Treat all individuals with dignity and respect, ensuring non-discrimination and inclusivity.
- Ensure that animal testing is not used at any stage of the ingredient or product development, in accordance with applicable regulations and ethical standards.

3. Ethical Business Conduct

Suppliers shall:
- Conduct business with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
- Avoid all forms of corruption, bribery, and fraudulent activities.
- Protect intellectual property and proprietary formulations of cosmetic products.
- Ensure accurate labelling, documentation, and compliance with cosmetics regulations in their respective markets.

4. Governance and Continuous Improvement

Suppliers are expected to:

- Collaborate with Fernanda & Capelo, lda., to innovate and implement sustainable ingredient sourcing, packaging, and production methods.
- Be transparent in disclosing relevant sustainability data and participate in audits or assessments when required.
 

5. Compliance and Enforcement

Failure to comply with this policy may result in required corrective actions or termination of the supplier relationship.
